Military Sealift Command

Military Sealift Command is the leading provider of ocean transportation for the Navy and the rest of the Department of Defense – operating approximately 110 ships daily around the globe. SMSLLC supports audit program implementation as well as miscellaneous research and risk-assessment-based assignments.

The Steamship Authority

The Steamship Authority (SSA) is the largest ferry service to the Islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket from Cape Cod. SMSLLC has worked with the SSA to develop and implement a combined safety and quality management system.

Crowley, founded in 1892, is a privately-held, U.S.-owned and operated logistics, government, marine and energy solutions company headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida. SMSLLC worked to combine and streamline Crowley's ATB and Tanker safety management systems into one holistic system.

Starr Companies

STARR Marine is a leading marine insurer offering products affecting ocean cargo, marine liability and hull coverage. SMSLLC has been involved on several initiatives that are beneficial to STARR and its insureds within the US towing vessel industry.

Moran

Since 1860, Moran has been assisting ships, towing vessels, transporting liquid and dry bulk cargo, and servicing LNG terminal ventures. In 2022, SMSLLC helped streamline Moran's existing safety management system, making it more user-friendly and effective.

NYC DEP Marine Section

The NYC-DEP Marine Section currently uses three sludge vessels for the transportation of liquid sludge from its four wastewater treatment plants that do not have dewatering capabilities. The newest vessel, the Red Hook, commissioned in 2009, is 350'×53'×21' and has a capacity of 150,000 cu. ft. in eight cargo tanks. It can travel at 15 knots. Maine Maritime Academy

Maine Maritime Academy is a maritime industry-leading college of engineering, management, science, and transportation. SMSLLC has worked with MMA to develop a safety management system for the academy training ship the “State of Maine”. SMSLLC also provides auditing and security services.

Headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Seabulk Tankers operates vessels primarily in the Jones Act trade. SMSLLC assists its audit program, provides management system development services, and provides support for security regulatory requirements.

ARC

American Roll On Roll Off Carriers, the leading U.S.-flag Ro-Ro carrier, contracted SMSLLC to develop an ISM compliant management system for the operation of their Maritime Security Program contracted fleet. ARC provides international port-to-port transport of heavy vehicles, helicopters and other equipment for the U.S. government as well as commercial break-bulk and Ro-Ro customers. ARC is a participant in the U.S. Government’s Voluntary Intermodal Sealift Program.
